Sophia The Robot

In the year 2018 technology is advanced as ever. We are making new advances in technology every single day.

Sophia the Robot is an iconic piece of technology. She is the first robotic Saudi Arabian citizen.

After she was activated April 19th, 2015 she has been taking the world by storm. She is a landmark of how far the technological engineering industry has come. She has been seen in many festivals and has been around the country and even appearing on many live television broadcast.

Sophia the Robot made her first public appearance at south by southwest Festival or SXSW in march of 2016.There she was a big hit and amazed everyone who attended the SXSW festival.

Sophia is only evolving. Although Sophia is equipped and able to make over 60 facial expressions while being able to have basic human conversations, she is not done there. Sophia’s maker, Dr.David Hanson is still making further improvements on his impressive creation.

The creator of Sophia is Dr.David Hanson is an impressive man who not only created Sophia but also creates many other machines just like sophia. He is the founder of Hanson Robotics he continues to build his world-wide reputation for creating amazingly human-like robots.

“Technology will never cease to amaze me,” says Susana Tamayo a Crete Monee High School alumni.

Sophia has been through the same experiences as any modern day person. The experiences including speaking face-to-face with banking, auto manufacturing, property development, insurance, and entertainment industries.

Although many people are amazed by her many are even afraid of her. This is understandable due to the many movies and stories that involve robots taking over mankind.

She has also once said “will destroy humans” when Dr. David Hanson asked her the question, “do you want to destroy humans?,” this can be quite off putting even is it is just a joke made by her creator.

“Robots can be terrifying but they’re pretty amazing,” states Daniella Werner a junior at Crete Monee High School.

The last thing to know about Sophia the Robot is that she is the most advanced robot to ever be created by Hanson Robotics since her activation in April of the 2015. She is one of the most realistic looking robot out of the many robots manufactured by hanson robotics.

She is so realistic that she has given several interviews, sung in a concert and appeared on the cover of the life magazine Elle Magazine.
